The Inner Condition

    Hello, and welcome to The Inner Condition. This would officially be the first post on the blog. Hopefully the first of many to come. My name is Szary and I’m just a regular guy living in a smokey Vancouver apartment, who has a passion for the written word. I’ll be contributing as often as my ambition permits. 

    The idea behind The Inner Condition is in the same vein as a traditional column section in a zine. Everything is written in the the first person. No stale, boring 3rd person bullshit here. We want our readers to get to know our columnists and follow their lives and their opinions. This may sound like an egocentric approach to writing, but believe me, it brings the reader and the writer closer together and gives the material more personality.

    We want our columnists to write about topics they’re passionate about, but not from an external point of view. We want to hear opinions and narrative in the first person. Sorry, no fiction or poetry, only real life anecdotes. Anything from childhood stories, to rants about what’s currently pissing you off. Write about the arts, current events, even politics (barf) if you want, but most importantly, write about your life! It’s up to you, but make it relatable, jovial if you can, the more wit the better. 

Anyone interested in contributing is encouraged to send an email to the address in the header. If you’ve seen all of the Submit your this, submit your that tumblrs and wondered “why isn’t there a Submit your writing, tumblr?” Look no further. We are here to help, and with any luck, we’ll develop a loyal following of people who love to read clever anecdotes from interesting people.
